The sin of America today is pornography

October 9th, 2009

I believe the sin of America today is pornography, I will not bore you with statistics, but the fact is pornography is a huge problem. It used to be you would have to sneak out and drive down to the little shack that had XXX Adult on their door.

Those days are gone, oh no I don’t mean the adult stores are gone they have gone from the bad part of town to the main street in many of cities. Pornography now can be accessed in the secrets of your home, no more getting in the car and driving to the red light district. The fact is you can turn on your computer, open up your Internet and type in any vile search you can imagine and there it is.

One of the first steps that should be taken is to safe guard your home from the potential dangers of pornography entering your home is to implement a filtering and monitoring program on your computer.

What you need is a filter that will not allow you to over ride it one that cannot be turned on and off at a whim. A good filter will do all this and more. It will have a reporting feature, a staff of knowledgeable folks that are there to help.

Please protect yourself and your family and get a great filtering and monitoring package.

Adults and the Internet

July 10th, 2009

Internet safety is usually packaged as protection for children. Don’t get me wrong we need to protect our youth, but we also need protection for the adults of the household.

When people of all ages are on the Internet, there is very little accountability in regards to knowing where, when and how long they have been on the Internet. The use a good Internet filter will assist in keeping your household free of the dangers of the Internet.

A good filter will have the capability of generating reports of usage of a computers visited web sites. It will also add a accountability feature that will allow you to have a partner view your surfing history.

Internet filtering software identifies and blocks porn

December 6th, 2008

The Internet is a powerful research and communication tool; however, it contains an enormous amount of information that can be offensive to adults, and unsuitable and sometimes downright dangerous to children. There is a large amount of explicit, but legal, material on the Internet. There are bomb recipes, hate speech and obscene language, all mixed in with political, legal, educational and sports-related resources. The Internet is not owned or regulated by one particular place or person; therefore, anything can be put up on the Internet despite the objections of others. By simply connecting to the web anyone can have instant access to countless pornographic and explicit websites and other websites dealing with hate, violence, and terrorism. There is no universal definition of what is objectionable and what is decent, and children are exposed to ‘objectionable’ material on the Internet everyday. Fortunately there are measures that parents can take to prevent this from happening.Protecting Children online has become a growing industry during the past few years. Internet filtering software identifies and blocks unsuitable content on the Internet, and prevents it from being shown on the screen. No filtering software can be 100% effective, but the best web filtering software successfully blocks out the most undesirable sites, while letting though the more begin sites.
Clean Internet provides protection to children, teenagers and adults who are vulnerable to the negative effects of objectionable material available on the Internet.

The effectiveness of filtering software differs from one program or service to another. While some of them are simple plug-ins for Microsoft Internet Explorer and offer basic filtering of a manually maintained list of URLs, others offer a rich set of features and come with large built in database of white-listed and black-listed websites.

One of the most important attributes an Internet filter program can offer is an easy-to-use design, making it possible for people with all levels of computer experience to easily install and use the filter to its fullest capacity. The most useful Internet filtering software offers reports on what each family member has been doing on the computer, which includes websites visited, chat room activities, and Internet programs used and so on. These log files can be sent daily to a specified email address. In this way parents can monitor their child’s internet activity even when they are away from home.

How can I block pornography from being viewed on my computer?

November 30th, 2008

I need something like a parental filter or something. I’ve tried going to ‘Internet Options’ >> ‘Content’ >> ‘Content Advisor’; but that blocks absolutely EVERYTHING. It says, “This page has been rated by a rating system that you do not have installed. For more information about these ratings, connect to http://www.icra.org/ratingsv02.html:
cz – 1
lz – 1″
I don’t want everything blocked, just pornography. I’ve gone through each item and setting the content levels to ‘unrestricted’ except for the nudity and sexual content items, but it still blocks everything. I don’t know the actual URL’s of each porn site, I just want a generic porn filter. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help.

Parental Controls programs are definately the best solution to this problem. The are in fact many different solutions you could use.

One very effective and reliable program that will accomplish this is Sentry Parental Controls. It allows you to choose the category, URL, or keyword to block sites with. This allows you to adjust the program to block the most of what you do not want seen.

For more information here’s the site: http://www.sentryparentalcontrols.com

How can I block pornography. I am tired of accidentally opening unsolicited pornographic messages. HELP!?

November 30th, 2008

I keep getting pornographic emails, which I hate and want completely blocked from reaching my in-box. There are little children in the family and I do not want them to be exposed to such garbage. I DO NOT WANT TO BE EXPOSED TO THAT GARBAGE, and would hate to have to switch to AOL or some other provider.

In options on the mail page enter spam protection and have it block all images it thinks is spam. It will slow them down.

Verizon, Sprint and Time Warner Cable have agreed to block access to child pornography?

November 26th, 2008

Verizon, Sprint and Time Warner Cable have agreed to block access to child pornography and eliminate the material from their servers. Is Yahoo! going to do the same?
You make it sound like Verizon, Sprint and Time Warner Cable are the only companies doing something. What the news really says is that New York’s attorney general found 88 newsgroups and 11,000 illegal pictures hosted by those providers. So they didn’t “agreed’ from the their good heart, they were “FORCED” to do something. Just because you don’t see the Yahoo name on that report doesn’t mean they and other companies are not doing anything. The news report is just about companies that have been CAUGHT allowing illegal material in their own newsgroups.
